Young Editorial Board
About the Programme
Young Editorial Board is an initiative of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation aimed at students interested in journalism, culture and Polish-German relations. The programme creates a space for developing journalistic skills and deepening knowledge about Polish-German cooperation.
Participants take part in workshops led by experienced journalists. The classes focus on creating event coverage, conducting interviews and preparing engaging content for social media.
Young editors visit Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation projects across Poland. They work on their own texts, interviews and reviews. An important element of the programme is mentoring and meetings at media editorial offices in Poland and Germany.
The programme lasts approximately one year. It concludes with the Young Editorial Board’s participation in the Polish-German Forum and the preparation of coverage from the discussions and meetings taking place during this event.

MoreA City Not Forever — a Text by Agnieszka Oszust
Wrocław has a city writer. Marko Martin, a German essayist and journalist, has assumed the position. He took up the post in April for several months as part of a grant from the European Capital of Culture. As befits a 21st-century city writer, he publishes his texts in the blogosphere. In a conversation with Agnieszka Oszust, he explains what attracts him to Wrocław, what people inspire him, and how he manages without knowing Polish.
MoreThe Mythology of Contemporary Poles — a Text by Adrian Musiał
What do Poles believe in? What stimulates our imagination and motivates us to act? It turns out that several historical and quite contemporary events have been appropriated by political elites to build myths, gain political capital, and achieve electoral success. About the contemporary myths of Poles, one can read in the latest issue of "Przegląd Polityczny" (No. 136, 2016).
MoreYoung Editorial Board Evaluation — a Text by Adrian Musiał
Wrocław. 24 July. The capital of Lower Silesia and the European Capital of Culture 2016 greeted us with a sweltering day and crowded streets. Walking through the Old Town, one could sense the atmosphere of the approaching World Youth Day in Kraków. Every now and then, groups of tourists passed by, guided through the extraordinary city's history by microphone-wielding guides, along with young people wearing religious emblems and carrying their nations' flags — for whom Wrocław was a stop on the way to a meeting with Pope Francis.
MoreMOZART OFF — An Alternative Stage for Young Artists — a Text by Agnieszka Szwajgier
The "Mozart Off/Amadeusz" concert series is an alternative stage for young artists who, as part of the 26th Mozart Festival at the Museum in Praga and in the gardens of the University Library, performed the most beautiful arias and choruses of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This time, the great Austrian composer's music rang out in the open air.
MoreYou Too Are “Made in Bangladesh” — a Report by Sabina Kowalczyk
Now we are all "Made in Bangladesh" — the radical statement flashed in large letters on the screen. Silence fell. Then darkness. And finally, the hall of the Nowy Teatr filled with thunderous applause. And I happily clapped along. Up until that moment, I had been delighted.
MoreAbout Łódź’s Jews at an Exhibition in the Year 5776 — a Report by Arkadiusz Lorenc
"Everyone keeps saying Yom Kippur, Yom Kippur. But generally they have absolutely no idea what Yom Kippur is about. Just like with other Jewish holidays. So we wanted to bring these holidays at least a little closer to people," says Joanna Podolska, Director of the Marek Edelman Dialogue Centre.
MoreHauptmann — The Genius from the Karkonosze Mountains — a Report by Sabina Kowalczyk
He looked like a typical scientist, some cousin of Einstein. A restless gaze, dishevelled hair. People said he was very haughty. But then, who wouldn't be, having achieved enormous fame at just 27? And having won the Nobel Prize? Or being described in one's era as one of the most important people in the country, placed — a "mere" writer — right alongside Kaiser Wilhelm? Nobody. And Gerhart Hauptmann was not too modest either. Does it matter, though?
MoreThe Scorpion Does Not Change Its Nature — a Review of the Film Familienfest by Arkadiusz Lorenc
Anyone who has ever attended a family gathering knows that they often go badly. German director Lars Kraume proves, however, that a family gathering can be far worse than many imagine. The only thing is that there are perhaps too many misfortunes and problems in the film Familienfest.
MoreEU-Russia. An (Un)Equal Partnership — Adrian Musiał
Why did Gerhard Schröder go to the sauna with Vladimir Putin? Why is Polish vodka cheaper than Kaliningrad vodka? Why does the European Union pursue a "paper policy"? These questions became the starting point for discussions among scholars from Poland, Germany, and Russia during the conference "European Union — Russia. Ways Out of the Crisis. The Perspectives of Germany, Poland, and Russia," which took place in Poznań on 23-24 June.
