“Conversations about Germany” is a new format of public debates devoted to Polish-German relations, initiated by the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation (FWPN) in autumn 2025 as a response to the growing need for in-depth, substantive discussion about Germany’s role in politics, the economy and security of Poland and Europe.
The debates bring together leading experts, analysts, journalists and public figures from both countries. Their aim is to create a space for open and honest exchange of views on key aspects of Polish-German relations and Germany’s position in the changing European and global order.
Topics include, among others: the German economy and its impact on Poland, security policy and European defence, energy transformation, the role of civil society and cultural cooperation. Each event combines expert presentations with an open discussion involving the audience.
The programme is a response to the conviction that understanding contemporary Germany – its internal dynamics, political debates and strategic choices – is essential for shaping constructive Polish-German relations and the common European future.
