Biography
Member of the Bundestag for the CDU, born 15 July 1968 in Munich. Graduated from the Benedictine secondary school at Schäftlarn Monastery (Bavaria) in 1987; in 1989 studied Japanese studies and history in Vienna; after German reunification returned to Germany; studied mathematics in Dresden and Bonn; doctorate completed in February 1998 on the introduction of renewable energy sources to the market at the Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Dresden (grade: summa cum laude); previously completed postgraduate studies in economic mathematics.
From 1999 to 2021 — co-owner and managing director of a medium-sized enterprise. In 2007 joined the state board of Mittelstandsunion Sachsen (MIT Sachsen, the Saxon branch of the CDU/CSU’s association for small and medium-sized enterprises and the economy); treasurer in 2009; chairman from 2011 to 2021. Honorary chairman of MIT Sachsen since 2021.
In 2019 chairman of the CDU district in Dresden; in November 2020 direct candidate in constituency no. 159. Honorary member of the foreign trade committee of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Dresden.
